David Hughes Dance Productions presents a quadruple bill performance of dance with original commissions by Christopher Bruce, Cesc Gelabert, Siobhan Davies and Javier de Frutos.Ten years on, this is a rare opportunity to see a selection of the original commissions of the acclaimed solo shows ‘Map’ and ‘Maps’. This is an intimate evening with the veteran Hughes, a chance for him to share with you his physical heritage and unrivalled dance experience.Javier De Frutos’ ‘El Uno y Medio’ casts Hughes as Jason after his estranged wife Medea has murdered their children. Cesc Gelebert choreographs ‘The Measurer’; an alchemist, tailor and measurer of all things. Siobhan Davies creates ‘L’Apres-Midi d’un Faune’. This is her modern take on the famous Nijinsky Ballet, an exploration of stillness. Christopher Bruce’s ‘Hurricane (A Pantomime)’ masterfully employs Commedia dell’Arte in the examination of the story of American boxer Reuben “Hurricane” Carter.
