Glenkens Traditional Music Weekend is a fun-filled and action packed music weekend at The CatStrand for players of improving beginner, intermediate and advanced levels (children & adults) in Fiddle, Accordian and Guitar.

 

Come and join in workshops, sessions and concerts being led by tutors from the RSAMD Musicworks including Ruairidh MacMillan (Winner of the Scottish Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2009) and Paul Tasker (Sal, Hoolichan and DogHouse Roses) and enjoy many hours of music-making in a relaxed, fun and informal setting. Classes and concerts will take place in The CatStrand and sessions will be at The Ken Bridge Hotel, New Galloway.

Volunteer Landmark Reached

 

Volunteer Co-ordinator Wendy Leach, the lady responsible for ensuring we have the required number of personel for each and every event held at the CatStrand and records the number of hours each volunteer has given to the organisation has just announced that so far in 2011 over 2000 hours has now been generously donated.
