The Lowland Clearances: Scotland's Silent Revolution

Sun 22 Nov  |  2.30pm  |    £5 inc refreshments

Everyone has heard of the Highland Clearances but little is said of the Lowland Clearances yet they changed the face of places such as Galloway and we live with the consequences today.

With the aid of recordings, Peter Aitchison and Andrew Cassell, authors of the book and radio series on the Lowland Clearances, will relate the story of Scotland's 'Silent Revolution' and discuss the implications for Galloway.

This event is organised by The Glenkens Story history project and is part of Book Week Scotland 2015.
