Celebration time at the CatStrand We celebrated our first anniversary over the weekend of 27th September and to mark the occasion, a host of events and activites took place.
Activities began on Friday and Saturday with the storytelling event War, Peace, Justice and Potatoes celebrating the United Nations International Year of the Potato with local school children and two unusual visitors to the CatStrand, Harris and Lewis, heavy horses from Barfil Farm.
Friday evening saw the exhibition opening of one of the areas most accomplished artists, James Faed Junior, with a lecture by his great grandson, Stuart Faed.
On Saturday evening, Glasgow-based company Opera on a Shoestring performed their CatStrand debut, Viennese Whirl, and Sunday was an open house with the venue hosting Doors Open Days, giving visitors the opportunity to see behind the scenes and help us eat birthday cake!
